Ruston Hornsby 4hp BPR
I posted in the new members forum but was advised to share here.
This is my newly acquired Ruston Hornsby 4hp engine. It appears to be in good condition, having been dry stored and well looked after.
I have been carefully oiling and freeing everything up, as it was quite stiff and gummed up but it now has great compression and I’m hopeful for its restoration!
Any advice, or information (I don’t have any literature for these) would be immensely appreciated, thank you.

Re: Ruston Hornsby 4hp BPR
Thanks for your reply. I did email Ray, but I got an automated response, saying he’s too unwell to respond anymore, sadly.
I did see the other lad’s restoration. It was nice and neat but I don’t have any concerns about the mechanical side of things. I’m more interested in the technical specifications of this range of engines. I like to read up on these things before getting anything fired up.
Kind regards
