JAP 2a Petrol Cap needed

Has anyone got a Jap 2a petrol cap and or Exhaust silencer they'd be willing to sell please?

You may be in luck but I'm visiting friends in Wolverhampton today. Will check on return.
What 'style' is it screw or bayonet (can't remember correct name )

Sadly you are out of luck - my JAP filler caps are all screw fit.
However I have a couple of bayonet fit caps that wish to remain anonymous. If you can send me some accurate dimensions (od, width/length across bayonets) I'll see if I have one that might suit.

BTW What carburettor is fitted to you engine?

The carb Has JAP cast into it but that's as much as I know so far- I'm very much a novice, this is the first engine I've looked at in 40 years LOL.
I'm also looking for a small machine to to power with the engine -preferably a 240 generator but I'm tempted to get 2 or 3 old car dynamo's and rig something up

I'm guessing carb is JAP 227/129.
Let me know if you would like a copy of the manual.

Yes there is 227 stamped in tiny script on part of it. Is it the same as the Zenith one I've seen mentioned or is that a different thing altogether?
I have a copy of a manual covering all the JAP engines from O to 55, but it is the worst laid out book I've ever seen, without a contents page or index -I'm guessing thats how things were done back then so it is a struggle

The alternative carb is, I believe, a Zenith 13 TC. Doubtless Blue Cat will correct me if I'm wrong.
