Villiers MK7 +020" piston rings
As per my other post, I need a set of +020" piston rings for a Villiers MK7/MK10/Acto-Villiers AV3. (50mm bore)
Would be interested in a good used piston and rings as an alternative.

Maybe also try FW Thornton?
May have something in the shed, but will be Thurs/Fri before I can check.

^Thanks for checking. I have sent off a couple of enquiries.
If all else fails I will just have to buy another engine...

Re: Villiers MK7 +020" piston rings
Would Mk10 rings fit as they are also 50mm ?

Had a look in the shed but sadly only have standard size pistons/rings.
Good luck in your hunt.

Re: Villiers MK7 +020" piston rings
^thanks for looking. L&S don't have them, FW Thorton can supply at £25 + VAT and carriage. A bit steep but it's my own fault for being a clumsy oaf!
I will try Cox and Turner before ordering.

Re: Villiers MK7 +020" piston rings
A seller on a Facebook group has a Villiers C30 thats been refurbed with a 20thou oversize piston. I have no idea if pistons from a C30 will fit a MK7.
Seller is in Nottingham.

The Villiers C30 is 70mm bore, so no it won't fit.
The Villiers 50mm bore stationary engines are - Mk10, Mk7/1, Mk7/RG, Mk2 Midget, Mk 7F, Mk 7F/1, Mk 10/1, Mk10/1HS, Mk10/1RG, Mk410H, and Mk410H-2.

Re: Villiers MK7 +020" piston rings
Just noticed that, according to the manuals I have, oversize pistons / rings are listed as +0.015" and +0.030"
Are yours definitely +0.020" ??

Yes, I thought that was strange when I was looking for part numbers. Piston crown is definitely stamped +0.020"
I ordered the rings from FW Thornton today, the chap said +0.020.

Piston rings
Hello , I,m rebuilding an ancient Villiers for a good old boy , & I,ve found 2 suppliers of Villiers bits I,d never heard of , both online , Villiersparts.co.uk & villiersservices.co.uk , give either or both a look at online & go from there . Villiersservices have got made a supply of new pistons etc .
