Lister ABL/Wisconsin AB Bits
I'm after a Wico Series A (I hope) magneto cap, and the carburetor which is a Stromberg OH-5/8 or a Zenith 87 or Marvel-Schebler VH 53 (these are the carbs listed for the Wisconsin engine, so far I have no idea which carb Lister used). Any close up photos of carb, and governor linkage would be good if they're out there.

Ref Wico mag - have a look at the late Andy Waters post.

Maybe you could get a duffer from that internet auction site and do it up?

That is handy to know. An initial poke at the magneto doesn't seem to be giving a spark, but it might be anything as apart from the contacts opening I don't know what is working. Main problem is getting the black bakelite(?) top.

What's wrong with the magneto cap you have photographed.

Hi. The hole spacing is correct one way but too large the other way, so its just there as a glorified 'dust cover'.

You might drop lucky and find that a good clean of the points with very fine glass paper or points file might do the trick. If not, next port of call is to measure resistance of HT side and, if you have a low ohm meter, then the LT side. Slip a piece of card between points so LT is not connected directly to earth.
Let us know what readings you get.

Well strike the magneto cap and exhaust off the list, just need to find a carb....and a spark. HT side of the coil gives 4.4Kohms. LT side is proving tricky to measure, but I'm hoping my old dial multimeters get that low - if I can find them!

Re: Lister ABL/Wisconsin AB Bits
4.4 k looks fine. Wouldn't bust a gut with LT. If you've got continuity probably OK. Next port of call after cleaning / gapping points would be condenser IMHO.
