Hello, my name is Andrew, I love old engines of all types but I am specifically on here to try to identify the exact model of Thornycroft paraffin/oil engines were originally installed when our 1914/15 motor yacht Glala was built. Lloyds entry for 1915 is a little confusing as it shows her having
2 paraffin Motors, 4c. 12Cy 8-1/2”- 12”. I feel pretty certain that she was built with 2x6cyl engines and later listed with 2x4cyl 8”x12” engines.
Glala has a 16’ engine room and there is evidence of likely original engine mounting holes indicating that the engine room length was mostly taken up by the propulsion units
Looking forward to finding out a little more about these engines.

Hello and welcome!
Stationary Engine magazine also encompasses marine engines so a letter to the editor may yield some information.
