Hi everyone

Managed to finally get my Petter A1 home to start looking at (needed to get a trailer and build a shed first!).

It was given to me as a present to restore, but as I'm new to all this it's going to take some time!  Wink

Hi Chris and a warm welcome to the forum.
Nice project the A1. Well made, easy to work on and parts are reasonably readily available. Did it come with a starting handle? Word of warning - when you finally do try to start it keep your thumb in line with your fingers - don't 'grasp' the handle. They can 'kick back' and give you a nasty bruise!

Please start a new thread in New Projects/Restorations and post a few pictures when you able.

Thanks for the welcome! My wife got me a starting handle as a wedding present! She got it from Stationary Engine Parts that said it was for an A1 but it turns out it doesn't fit. However I did manage to pick up a handle from the Great Dorset Steam Fair (and a Wico mag, no idea what it was off).

Welcome Chris.
Regarding the starting handle, if it doesn't meet the description SEP will accept it back I'm sure and cover return postage if its their mistake. Head man Steven Perks has put right every issue I've had quite quickly.
