Hi, my name is Martin and i decided to join up after reading the many interesting article s and views on here the other day. I have been interested in old machinery including engines for the last 30 years but never really got down to a complete restoration or owned anything too fancy.
I actually prefer in some ways the simpler common engines that we are still likely to find but have great admiration for those who have resurrected the big expensive open cranks and even more so when they manage to get them to shows for us to enjoy. Ive definitely noticed a decline in intereseting finds over the last decade or so and a reasonable increase in price but also still lots of interest when they become available for sale. So ive started keeping my eye out again and already have a little Petter A in the shed to hopefully replace one i sold many years back. To date i have my old Lister D, first engine i ever bought, my new Petter plus a nice earlyish diesel Paz1 . My wife has a little Norman twin which needs rebuilding and her Lister Autotruck. Hopefully i can post some pics on here and start asking for advice as i go along any maybe even help out with the odd question myself . Either way i look forward reading some interesting posts.

Hi Martin and a very warm welcome to the forum.
Plenty of help, experience and advice to be had here. Please post a few pics of your chosen first project in New Projects/Restorations when your are able. Good luck.
