I’d say that’s an asset to its design so it stays put

I agree with you, it was an asset when it was working for a living, now it's just a toy and some of us, me included, don't have the ability to throw it around anymore. I have a Lister M, 1919 tank cooled petrol paraffin engine that I've been restoring for a long time but I will never finish it because my age and ailments make it impossible to move so it has to go, there will come a day when you will have the same problem.

Believe me I already have aches and pains from each and every day.
When I stop aching I know I’ve reached the end

First longer run of the 6PB. It ran well all day.

That looks really nicely presented and it runs, as well as it looks!
Another successfully concluded restoration, what's next?
Neil.

As I wanted to show something a little different than the pump I have recently purchased a corn mill / grinder that I'm in the middle of getting ready to show. I would call it a medium size unit unlike the Bamford 'Rapid Mill' or Bentall ETC and for easier transport and handling I have removed the cast iron stand, it's still quite heavy but I will install some industrial castors where the stand bolts on to make it easier to handle. As it still has some original paint, pin-striping and lettering I intend to leave this in 'working clothes' 'oily rag' condition giving it a coat of boiled Linseed Oil / White Spirit @ 50/50 ratio. The only parts that will be cleaned back to bare metal will be the surfaces that contact the material being ground and as this will be a working restoration and I will offer members of the public small bags of ground Maize for bird feed ETC at rally's.
This is the mill as I purchased it. I will start a new restoration thread soon.
