Norman T300 TA Generator Set
I volunteer at Papplewick Pumping Station near Nottingham and in their collection is a Norman T300 Generator Set which has not run for many years. Apparently it was always difficult to start and ran roughly. I've managed to get a park anf fuel to the carb but no mixture entering the cylinders. I've attached pictures of the carb and wondered if there should be an O ring or washer between the float bowl port and the main body.
I'd like to get this engine running again and apart from any advice regarding spare parts, gaskets etc, is it possible to obtain an engine manual?
Thaks in anticiation.
Regards John
Aged 72 but started getting mucky again.
PS How do you insert a picture?

Re: Norman T300 TA Generator Set
Hi John,
On the Solex 26FH carb fitted to the Norman there should be a gasket between the carb and the engine crankcase. Proper thick gasket, not an O ring.
There is no gasket between the carb float bowl and the carb body.
Do you have the engine number ? It will begin with TA or TE.

Thanks for adding the photos, the blue arrow is pointing at one of the brass jets in the carburettor. There should be a very thin fibre washer under this jet.

Was that a paper manual or a PDF?
If the latter, could I get a copy? I've just taken ownership of one...
ETA, I have a manual now. Thank you.
