Fuel leaks Empty Fuel leaks

Post by MT500 Thu Apr 07 2022, 09:53

Morning all,

I've got a Villiers Mk12 which runs well and is in good condition. It's weeping from two places though -  the seal between the fuel tap and the tank, and also the brass union which screws on to the fuel tap (plunger type fuel tap).

Can anyone tell me what the parts are I need to get to sort this? It looks like a fibre washer on the fuel tank, but not sure if this is correct? And the brass union - will that have an o-ring?

Cheers in advance!

APOLOGIES - I've put this in the wrong forum, if any mods can move it then I'd appreciate it. Sorry!

No apology necessary - easily done.

Imperial fibre washers still  obtainable online.

I take it the fitting that goes onto the tap is just a stub that the fuel hose pushes on to? IIRC that should just be a taper seal. It may be possible to lap it in with some metal polish.
