Bentall corn mill
Hi Everyone Iam Andrew from Rutland.
Iam currently restoring a bentall corn mill to go with my Lister D. It is missing a pulley wheel. Does anyone know what size it would be or even better know where there is one

Re: Bentall corn mill
Most corn mill pulleys I've seen are about 12-14 inches diameter and 4-6 inches wide, but it also depends on the type of mill you have. Please add some photos when you can.

Hi Andrew, welcome to this great site.
Just to add to the flywheel question - I have and use a Corbetts corn mill, the drive pulley size is 8.5" diam and 4.5" wide. Good luck.
All the best Kev.

It looks to me that you have the drive pulley ,on the right of your photo, ie this pulley will take the belt drive from your engine and operate the grinding plates. I assume that the other pulley you mention goes on the 1/2" shaft in the centre of your photo - this could drive an agitator to help with the flow of the corn to the plates. Hope that helps a little.

Hi Kev
Yes thats right. The main pulley is there I am after the one that is driven from the main pulley. Since its missing I don't know what size pulley it should be other than it should have a half inch bore

Re: Bentall corn mill
The only thing I can suggest is, if you know which Bentall model it is, to do a search on the 'net and see if there is a picture of one there. Alternatively try a small one of say 4" diam. I would check that the shaft actually rotates first as from the photo it looks a bit rusty which could mean that it is seized inside the machine. Good luck! Kev

Re: Bentall corn mill
They are a big help thanks. I can get a rough idea now of the size compared to the main pulley. Thanks for finding them for me.

Re: Bentall corn mill
If I remember right the pulley you are missing is the same size as the outer drive pulley so one that size would be ideal, might not find an original one but you never know....
