NEW TROLLEY FOR H2 PUMP
Good Morning,
I thought some of you might like to see the progress of my H2 pump.
I have now made the frame, varnished it, made axels & mounting brackets.
I have just finished mounting them to the frame tonight so have taken a few snaps for you to look at.
I just need to rub down and paint my wheels now. A few coats of mid-brunswick and we will be nearly there.
Next job after that is to start work on the stainless steel water tank and then mount the pump to the frame.
Enjoy....................
regards

Hi Ryan,
I bought the wheels from ebay (2 sets) they where brand new industrial castors. I ground off the welds on the end of the castor casings and took the pins out and realeased the wheels.
then came the job of making new axels for them. Steel was far to heavy due to the fact that the hole was 38mm, so I decided to make them from aluminium. I cut all the parts and my mate who welds ali, welded the back plates on for me.
Nice brass front plates cut from 6mm hard brass and screwed onto front of the axel to hold the wheels on.
I then made some steel brackets to hold them onto the trolley. Red oxide 3 coats, primer 3 coats, black gloss 3 coats.
Stainless steel coach screws to hold them on and job done.
The Timber is Ash and the varnish is B & Q own brand exterier. lots of thin coats and then rubbed down with 360 finishing paper between coats.
I get the timber from our joinery shop at work, marked out the design on the ends and used the gear in the workshop to cut it out. If you need any timber Ryan let me know, not the cheapest but it is good quality.
Cut all the joints and put trolley together at home.
Proper job.
Cheers
Mart.

B&Q clear exterior varnish Ryan.
Gives a great finish and you can get 2 litres for about £20
It is all about prep. build the coats up and use fine finishing paper between coats and it will come up like glass.
The ash timber is easy to cut and work with, but is nice and dence / heavy.
Cheers

PROGRESS OF PUMP
Evening,
I have now finished painting my pump and have now fixed it to the trolley.
have started putting it back together bit by bit.
Stainless steel tank to be fixed down and wheels to paint, then plumb it all in, and we should be finished.
Tis getting there slowly.
Just hard to find time to get it finished.
Cheers

Picture one shows the stainless tank, with welds prior to rubbing down.
Picture two shows the welds on the tanks after rubbing down.
Picture three shows the tank after polishing up.
5 hours of work put in on this last night, and dont think it looks to bad.
Regards
Martin.

HI Mike,
The paint on the pump is polyurathane, which i get mixed at the local car paint supplier. It bruhses and sprays fantastic and you get a superb finish. The pump was sprayed on this one.
The engine was painted with enamel from Stationary engine parts. again when I thinned it down with fast flash you get an excellent finish on it.
Thanks for all the good feedback, its really appreciated.
regards
Mart.
