Re: Lister D Age Question
See website [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and a book from that site will tell you all you need to know. The site owner, Doreen Edgington can also date the engine for you and tell you its first owner for just a "Thank you".

Late 1938 / early 1939 I would say, but the previous reply is correct and is a great source of info on your engine, you might get who it was supplied to possibly and any other info available from the lister records.

Re: Lister D Age Question
Your engine was manufactured mid January 1939, as Cranium stated Doreen Edgington is the lady to speak to but also as Cranium stated a thank you will go along way. In 1938 saw the cylinder head casting no change to D1062, the Spec No is 23D2H which is Spec 23, D for model, 2 for Horse Power and H for hopper cooled.

when the engine is restored does it have to be hopper fed or can it be run by just having water in the head
