New Member, generator and engine collection
Well, I thought I would share some of the details about the engines I either own, custodian and/or restoring as some of you may be interested. I am based in the UK/Midlands. I am very fortunate enough to have the space to store these engines with the restored examples being undercover.
So I have the following:
Crossley QVD 4 with bedplate and generator (custodian)
Crossley HDE 11, no generator so just the engine (own)
Ruston 8HRF (custodian)
Gardner 4LW complete on skid with generator, WW2 so no aluminium castings.(own)
National oil engine, vertical RV6 complete generator and all switch gear. 1936 with Harland and wolf electrical gear. I think this is pretty rare.(own)
Paxman 6RPHX with generator (own)
Buckeye vertical 5 cylinder, weighs 9.8 tons for about 180hp! (custodian)
And my favourite which will be fully commissioned by the end of the new year.....a W H Allen VBCS12-C engine complete with generator and all switch gear, basically this is an open rocker gear, v16 engine. Continuously rated Hp is 1860 at 750rpm connected to a 1.3 megawatt generator. This is now quite a rare lump at 37 tons as we think all the v16 engines have now all been scrapped. This one is immaculate and has only done 2600 hours since 1965. (own)
I will try and upload some pictures as we go along
Cheers
Mark

Non the wiser after reading your link I use it as a contraction of photographs, maybe I should stick to using pics instead?
