Hi from Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Hi everyone.
Thank you for allowing me into your forum.
I started my working life as a mechanic engineer in the merchant navy. I worked with diesel engines from two cylinder Lister / Petter lifeboat engines up to 20,000 shp two stroke slow speed 8 cylinder Burmister & Wain diesel engines plus the associated plant that comes with them. Also medium speed diesel alternator sets and everything else you need to move 25,000 tonne of crude oil around the world.
I moved on then to become an oil refinery operator working with steam turbines, pumps, gas reliquidification plant and other magic things I can't easily explain.
I am now a railway signaller, sort of semi retirement .
I try to keep my hands in on the spanners helping out at a heritage railway working on steam locos and Gardner diesel shunting engines. During lockdown I have decided to get a stationary engine to help stimulate my 60+ brain cells so I have managed to get my hands on a Stuart R2Y generator set which I hope to rebuild, get running and looking pretty. I will try not to ask too many silly questions from you all.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading everyone's posts.
Regards.
Phil.

Hi
Welcome from Ceredigion. I have a couple of Stuart Turners waiting in the queue for restoring. Others on here have restored generating sets like yours so there should be plenty of help.
