Hi Guys,

HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you all.

Just began a strip down of my new project the rather rare Petter PC1 diesel from around 1958, i have managed to get a few bits from Jim Perkins; he's a very helpful chap and has written a great bok on Petters Ltd. However just pulled out the piston and its in a terrible state; two big chunks missing where the two top rings go; amazing it was till running (and pretty well too) Anyone got a piston???? you never know might get lucky!!!!

Thanks,

Johny

post a pic of the offending item and a idea of bore, depth, gougeon pin diameter and number of piston rings ect
all will aid in the search mate, also what engine was closest in size in that petter book at the time it came out in production as some parts may well be from the earlier or more popular one to it of the time

Many thanks, i'll get a bit more info and photos, The PC1 engine has a 3 inch bore and stroke the same as a PAZ1, and both engines are the same CC. A PAZ1 piston may fit, but not sure, gudgeon pin and con rod may be different; i know the combution chamber on the piston crown is different, the pc1 has a central dished hole while the PAZ1 is offset, pc series engines were designed to run at upto 3000 rpm while PAZ1s were plodders.
pc1 conrod is No hc17. I know the PC1 is a very rare engine and chances of getting a piston is doubtfull, it may get too expensive if i go down the road of getting the piston repaired, which is a shame as it is an unsusual engine. Thanks, johny
