Hi Kev,
Those connectors certainly look the part.Cracking job there.
The engine restoration looks to be almost completed now - looking forward to seeing photos of the completed project.
All the best,
Kev.

when cleaning the control box  I rubbed through to the original finish with the logo and address. I am thinking of making new stickers using my computer to make some waterslide transfers I just wondered if anyone knew of another way to reproduce the lettering before I get down to it.

getting closer to the finishing line just the last push to get the little odds and ends done. I had a little trouble with the drain tap for the cooling tank ,its a little miniature brass tap that's been well machined and finished but when I drained the tank all I could get out of it was a little dribble of water so I had to take it apart and I found the washer was held by a little plastic peg that was all bent and the washer was a screwed up bit of black rubber it just seems so weird that someone could make a lovely machined casting with a cracking finish and then make it scrap for the sake of a little brass peg and a proper tap washer.

the fuel tank came with the engine but its too small to be practical and I have got to weld up a stand to hold another one that holds around half a gallon

Hi Kev,
You have really made great progress and it looks like you are on the homeward stretch now. Those water conectors certainly look the business.
Looking at the control box - in the center below the gauges there is a nut that should have a bar projecting out from it onto which a knob fits, this controls the slide on the rheostat - it looks as if your bar has slipped back inside the control box( on the inside end it has a leaf spring) if you push this out from the inside you should have enough of the bar protruding to get a knob on - I had this trouble and ended up using an old radio knob.Hope that makes sense!
Looking forward to hearing that you have got it all working ok.Good luck!
Kev.

Hi all
ive managed to put a bit of time in and managed to machine a magneto flywheel for the second stuart engine. the donor mag is from a jap engine but it is too large to fit under the cast flywheel so I have machined out the flywheel and reduced the mag as far as I dare ,I am hoping to use the original baseplate as this will retain the look of the engine. the next problem to solve is the cam has to be machined and bored out to take the bigger tapered shaft on the stuart and the coil on the base plate will need moving as its too far from the magnets in the bigger wheel.

Hi Kev,
That mag is looking really good now - nice idea to use the origenal base plate. You are lucky being able to do the lathe work yourself - that will certainly save you a bob or two!
All the best,
Kev.
