lister d needle valve question

lister d needle valve question

Hi. When I got my lister d engine, the needle valve on top of the carb wasn't screwed in, it was in a bag. How far do I screw it in as ive tried various positions and cant seem to get her to run smoothly.

Screw it all the way in then unscrew it about half/three quarter turn to start then wind it back in till it runs smooth, lot of people forget the last bit.

so true , at my last rally about two listers D's had their spark plugs coke up due to not "Dialling in" as i like to call it.
