Hi and welcome to the forum. By describing it as needing a fettle the seller means it needs tidying up and maybe a few parts replacing. It looks OK from the photos apart from the fuel line and exhaust, im more concerned by what looks like burning on the fuel tank, I'd ask about that, could be spilled fuel ignited.They aren't a big engine and I'm not sure of the exact weight of the engine as mine is on a trolley with a generator so weighs quite a bit.

Hmm. The Ad states this:
Partially restored Petter A1 in running condition. It currently has no silencer and runs a bit erratically so could do with a fettle. Has been cleaned internally and externally and filled with new oil.

I was thinking just a few little replacements and a respray.

It probably just needs the carb setting up and maybe the mag timing doing, looks to be in good condition apart from the paint, fuel pipe and exhaust which can be easily sorted. Did you ask the seller about the blackening on the tank? Could be fire damage or spilled fuel has just damaged the paint.
