i have a friend that has a WD2 he use to slow crank it and use to tick over fine, now he has to crank it really fast with the choke off to start it , any ideas why?

Sounds like the impulse in the magneto has stuck

A swill with parafin but try to avoid getting it inside the electrics usually frees the spring off

the impulse is missing a few ticks, so what do i need to do mate, lol its a wico mag

Take the mag of the engine and hold it upside down

Drip parafin ( It will dissolve old sticky oil) under the wheel at the back and around the impulse pin keep turning the mag both ways and then that should free it off .

let it dry before putting it back on
