they are a nice looking engine and simple to repair and quaity castings as always from villiers
and i think my paint job looks ok on them too ?lol?
just the fuel tanks and brackets to clean up and paint over the winter months
as they will be small enough for me to do in my micro-workshop
ive now been busy on the amanco again now, stipping down into lumps ,
scrapping and sanding back to bare castings

stu using it for restored engines and dismantling and reasembling when finished in the next week or 2 a engine i sold at 1000 rally will be going to its new owner at last, so then i will have some space for moving engines around into one place, the running un-painted shed and the other for rally ready pumps and engines then the tardis workshop for a normall the nitty gritty jobs and the trailer as just assemble painting room and then only the project will have to come out and go into the space from the rally equipment

well the trolley that came with one of these engines, is now in the doomed pile of fire wood,

as it always came to pieces on the field or in transport ect Crying or Very sad Sad
coach bolts and no fixed cross members ,means a weak, twisting and axle walking mess, in this old trolleys case.
so stronger lower and smaller trolleys are being made and finished at this time
and one trolley is now completed and paint drying ,
and the other more off center set one for the wx lzha with the big fat flywheel center cast 1x v belt pulley sticking out engine, is past the 1/2 way mark
so this last week or so inbetwen work and ill kids ,im doing 3 trolleys at the same time
2x villiers wx11s
1x frank pearn waterpump

thinking also coach screws and washers ,are maybe running low ,
so may bring job to a stop tomorrow Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

well ive been busy for a couple of evenings and few afternoon hrs to ,working on the wx11 fuel tank as it was a culinder , the more hrs it ran the more soap in holes was needed,so it never got painted for the rally season last year ,so completly stripped and sanded tank inside and out soldered all the holes and seams too and also were it was sounding thin dented and filled with solder also,tested it 4 times over until the tank was fuel proof at every angle
so when im feeling fluss in a few months or so , will be buying the good tank sealer for the lining ,so the tank is now primmed and top coated ,brass cleaned ready for a good polish at somepoint ,also the tank band has been streightend out of big dents and folds, primmed and also top coated in grey
and have also cut some fuel resistant cort strips for the tank banding and also 4 round pads for the back of tank sadels, so me and ray will be fixing the tank to one or the other wx11s tomorrow , and a new one is ordered for the other engine arriving over the next mnth or so
but grips with the steel soldering with the old 3 hands needed technic 1st hand for the blowlamp 2nd for the iron and 3rd hand for the running of solder
nightmare but getting it on smother and faster ect as im going latly so, may have a go at doing a tank from scratch this way ,for the originallity looking seams "fingers crossed mind lol
will post some pics tomorrow and maybe a video if i get a min the fuel and water her up before we go to the smallwood rally this weekend

i would like to say the tank and strap look great and i vouch for the hours kev has put in the only thing i dont like is how easy he makes the restoration look lol well done kev

Yes Kev is dedicated, not many people read engine manuals in bed, well not many under 65 LOL except Kev that is. He gets all the family to help as the children can do a better job then him.

shes run all day long and not a dribble of fuel leaked out of the fuel tank and system:D
apart from when i topped it up at lunch time ,and the heat from the water tank and sun swelled the fuel out through the little overflow hole Shocked Shocked in the brass tank neck ,just stuck a jug under the carb and pressed the tickler and took a pint back out
lesson learned "wont be doing that again soon Rolling Eyes

second day and all she needs is a water top up every 1 1/2 hrs and fuel every day and a half Very Happy
its only a 4 ltre tank too, thought it was bigger but measured the fuel in today and thats the result
supose its becouse shes and a half moon tank so looks bigger than they are Very Happy

stu she was under load apart from the sunday morning ,as a lad on the line thought it funny to undo the blead valve on the pump the day before and before id finished making me dinner a woman screamed Rolling Eyes as the valve completly screwed its self out and then the ball bearing and spring flew out a fountain of water soaked her "lovly looking woman to , lads loved the wet t-shirt look ,but i had to go around the stalls and auto jumble to find a ball bearing the closest i couldit worked well heres a video to show it all back together again and the wx11 powering it
