Mackies name plate.
Hi all , has anyone come across an engine or any other item with this name plate. have been trying to research the company without much luck.
I have a small Hobbs engine 3/4 HP which is plated Mackies. Found a comment on the American engine forum , someone had a mackies badged engine, other than that nothing.

there was a Mackies ltd Reading mentioned in the Grace's Guide in the Engineer magazine under the heading of Machinery, maybe the 1921 was a new premises and a company split or restart.

May not be helpful but see the Lint-puller thread on the IF forum. Mackies of Belfast were major makers of agricultural machinery.
cheers

Good afternoon Martin 'Mary Alice'.
I think there were a number of companies across the UK with the Mackies' name. However this particular one was most likely a Kingswood, Bristol firm, mainly producing for the boot and shoe trade .
