Hi all, again, after a few hours on the Maytag that is in thread before this one, it is now ready for whenever the rallies are back on the scene, it was degreased first then cylinders were painted, next paint on rest of engine I think it is still the original so rather that paint that I used something I can remember my grandmother using many many years ago still have a tube of it in garage its Black Grate Polish I used to help her to do the cast iron fireplace, was a weekly job this and she had it sparkling.
Next was the exhaust, think these engines were supplied with a flexible exhaust pipe, could not find any correct profile or colour so this I put on will have to do, but its still TOO loud for my liking so that might change yet,   but it runs great still have to find the sweet spot on the air intake setting yet though,   roll on the first crank up middle of next month will be its test run day.

Nice work Don.  What about something like this on the end of the flexible pipe?

That's a lovely looking unit - where's your crankup? might be able to hear it from here!

You could try one, or more, stainless steel pan scourers inside the ball of the muffler.

Or go the Chore Horse method and bury the exhaust.
