I have a workshop full of all sorts of tools. None of my spanners fit my newly acquired Lister D - apart from the adjustable ones!

I'm thinking that maybe they're all Whitworth? Any thoughts or advice gratefully received.

Thank you.

Yes they are Whitworth, mainly 7/16, 1/4 or 5/16 in size for most. You can get whit spanners at car boot sales etc or ebay and with a little looking new sets can be bought for not much £. Stay away from Silverline, there whit spanners are made out of cheese and don't fit either....

you could also look out for spanners that carry the lister name to enhance your display.

Lister appear to have sourced spanners from a number of suppliers over the years. I have seen spanners with their own address on (i.e. made in their own factory) as well as Lister spanners clearly made by at least three different companies.
