Hi all, just a quick intro to you all from a wet,but warm morning in Portugal.

I retired here in central, and very rural Portugal in 2013,found a Crossley P1060 on a friends drive covered in cement and old cement bags, but with a very bent crank.
It’s been a long restoration project, but almost there now, will be pleased to contact other same engine owners for some advise on the setting up.

David

Hi David, welcome aboard.

You will have to get some pics up in the restorations section.

Hi Robotstar5,with great regrets all,and I mean all, some 30 strip down photos are sitting on my previous iPad 2,which has been corrupted and no longer accepts any of my passwords, very frustrating, I can give a verbal flavour of the work that I have carried out, very very extensive in the restorations section, thanks for your welcome message.

Hi David and a warm (and wet) welcome to the forum.

Slim chance, but you might want to try a piece of PC (Windows) software called 'Syncios'. It allows you transfer files between PC, iOS and Android devices and sometime recover lost files.

If the project is complete please post pictures in Pride and Joy.

Bom dia Woodsman,

Oh that it would be that easy,I cannot even open the iPad,all my passwords have corrupted,an expat friend has suggested I drive to Lisbon where there is an approved Apple reseller, explain the problem, stick a €50 in the iPad cover and pass it to him, very frustrating, but thanks for your advise.

The Crossley is not complete,I have managed to get it running, but very rough and dancing all over the place,so carb stripped at present awaiting further inspection, but yes,I will be pleased to post some pics on completion, thanks.

Bom dia David,

Haven't been to Portugal for a while but rented a villa in São Rafael near Albufeira on a couple of occasions. Great little bar/ restaurant on the beach - Restaurante A Sardinha if memory serves me correctly.

Feel free to post some 'ongoing' pictures in New Projects/Restorations

Albufeira is about 4 hrs due south of our position,if you were to draw a horizontal line in the middle of Portugal and cross it with a vertical line, again in the middle, you won’t be far from our home, near Ansião.
The area you have visited is known as Little Britain, great for a holiday or just to visit, but very commercialized and just not our cup of tea,we wanted the real Portugal, rural and quiet,a pleasure to drive here, just like the 50’s and 60’s in the U.K.,the population here is 10.4 millions compared to the U.K. at 64.3 millions,no contest.Cheers David

Agree about commercialisation - now favour a little sleepy fishing village in Tenerife.
Before we get some abuse, maybe we should nip this thread in the bud and add I should a Holidays and Travel forum? Wink  Very Happy

Apologies,it’s my mistake to go akin to "Wish you were here",I’ll leave it there for now and use the Restorations thread.
