BTH Magneto
I have a BTH magneto belonging to a Douglas flat twin engine. It's producing no spark so where should I start? I've got a multi meter but I'm not very clued up with fixing magnetos. I was quoted as much as £250 just to send it to a workshop for a check up so I might as well give it a go at home.
Cheers

Re: BTH Magneto
Ally, £250 is ridiculous Shop around...
Check out the magneto guys on another stationary engine forum, they are much cheaper.
Put your meter across the slip ring and the end of the shaft to measure resistance.
The Douglas stationary engine will not be worth more than the repaired magneto though, so only do this if you intend to keep and rally it.
