J.A.P. 2a - Zenith Carb
Howdy,
I've just started a restoration of my J.A.P. 2a Engine and I'm trying to get some details about the carby - but not having much luck.
The carby itself has ZENITH stamped into the side - so that's a pretty good start
Thats followed by "Type 3T" or perhaps its 3Y - bit hard too read.
But when I search that model - I draw a blank.
The Zenith Website says the J.A.P. Model 2a (and the 2s for that matter) have a carby spec C1257 - but I am drawing a blank with that as well - even on the ZENITH site.
I'm hoping to source a rebuild kit, or at least some gaskets and a mixture screw for it - anyone got any clues??
Here are a couple of pictures....
It looks like the air cleaner attached to the bottom of this model.
Cheers.

Re: J.A.P. 2a - Zenith Carb
The carb is a Type 13T.
Do not confuse it with the Type 13TCA-2 which has the butterfly spindle rotated 90 degrees.
There is usually an alloy elbow fitted to the bottom of the carb, and the air-filter fits on the elbow.

Re: J.A.P. 2a - Zenith Carb
Hey thanks heaps BLue Cat
I have seen a few on YouTube with that elbow you mentioned, but wasn't sure if that was the same as my carb.
So now I need to source the elbow and Air Cleaner.
There is probably zero chance of getting them in Australia - I might try Meetens, or perhaps Villiers Parts anjd have them shipped over to Oz.
Any other likely suppliers you guys use in England?
