Petter A1 Advice please
A few questions regarding our newly acquired Petter A1
Before we try hoisting the thing we'd like to be reasonable sure the roof rafters will take the load so..
a) How much does it weigh - dare not use the bathroom scales
Presumably a lot less with the flywheel removed which brings us to..
b) Who invented the gib key and was he executed for his crime?
c) Are the gib key removal tools, seen on fleabay, any good?
d) If not, whats the best method / tool?

the guy that sells the ones listed for lister d a and b models, and works with a bolt the pull from center is a great tool and last well and longer than the facory mass produced ones from stores this guy makes them the old way with correct good grade materials, just the metric center bolt starts to wear after about 20 jobs, but gib keys usually come out ok and reuseable with little or no filing, other methods will tend to bend or snap them off, but this tool has always worked for me and a mate of mine also has the same tool and hes had his for many restorations and he also says its great worker and key saver to, so mine and his have payed for them selves already in saved gib keys will try and send you a like shortly so were sure were talking of the same tool
the petter a1 manuals all dont have a engine weight in them but i can get a close weight from one i took to the scrappy a few years back

Re: Petter A1 Advice please
Found a posting on YouBend that guesses weight at around 85 kilos - so is heavier than me but the rafters should take it OK.
Just need gib key puller now - over to you Kev.
