bradford drag saw
hi i am in the process of rebuilding a bradford engine off a avon drag saw can any body tell me if it needs a head gasket also the tappet clearance and touqre settings thanks in advance

Yes you will need a head gasket, I make mine using a material called klingersil which you get get of eBay. Use a hole/leather punches to cut holes in in.
Torque setting, I never bother as many of these old engines have no info listed for torque figures. Just do all up finger tight and nip up with a ratchet then a small breaker bar doing up opposite side at a time but don't over do it just so it's nice and snug. Once been run tighten a touch more.
