Looks really good Matt. I even like the little dinky trolley it's on (& you know me & trolleys, I'm not much of a trolley person).
Really nice pump that.

From pistol Pete , was a bit of wait but its worth it and the trip down to essex too .
Dont see many around like this do you ???
No what do i do for a tank ? metal one would be a bit heavy to cart about , what about a half oak type barrel .

Metal tanks do look good though. But are heavy.

I think it has to be a metal one - maybe a riveted header tank / boiler

lol ! its the biggest one ford does if go the Extra long wheel base the uladen weight goes up so less laden weight
Its not that heavy abes , but certanlly needs plenty of strength to push up ramps .
Or just for now a plastic loft cold water tank .... hang on Steve didnt you say you made plastic tanks

Re: new purchace , joseph evens 1925 circa pump
You could probably fabricate your own plastic one to look like a metal one, maybe stick some bits on that look like rivets. Paint it gloss black (or silver) no one need ever know.
I had plans to make a petrol tank for the Briggs out of plastic pipe. Some 6" soil pipe, glue on some ends & filler/tap bosses, job's a good'un. As long as you use a good high-tack primer the paint should stick OK.

Thats a great idea .
You know the black plastic loft tanks for cold water ?
Sounds a good idea and see if can get some fake resin rivets that can be stuck on etc .

Re: new purchace , joseph evens 1925 circa pump
Could even stick on metal rivet heads. Some little triangle shaped pieces across the corners, like they did with the metal ones to add strength.
Bit of time & effort could make all the difference.

I have a very nice stainless barrel here, about 8 gallon I think, has all the proper ribs in the sides etc

How about using a cut down aluminium beer barrel as a tank?

Re: new purchace , joseph evens 1925 circa pump
ive got one of the modern flower tubs made out of light weight wood but looks like a oak barrel, plans are for going with the pearn pump instead of the unsightly narrow and tall galv rivet tank it has at present, there not as heavy as they look the ones i have without the rivets, and with the rivets are about an extra kilo or so ,but do look more inkeeping with the scene,
now the trolleys done and seals in the pump are working well ,and its done its first show and never let me down ,moves to the winter project list, to make it look more pritty for the punters on the rallys

Metal tanks aren't exactly heavy for a lad like you, just eat more lardy cakes to keep your strength up, ive got quite a nice stainless tank here

Very nice pump Matt, its made by the same company as my Leo , RE Tank, if you were going to make a fake metal tank, rather than peeing around with plastic, you'd do better glassing up some 3mm ply
