Petter AVA compression question.
Hi,
Following recent posts about poor compression, I'm thinking about honing the cylinder. Any advice please? Will I need over sized piston rings and/or piston. Don't seem to be readily available.
Thanks
David

Re: Petter AVA compression question.
You wont need anything oversize David, unless you get carried away with the hone! Just lubricate the hone with parrafin or diesel and run it up and down the bore for a few seconds at a time, once the shine has gone of the cylinder wall that should suffice. Of course your rings may well be worn in which case they will need replacing but you still only require standard size, unless of course the cylinder has previously been rebored but that should be stamped on the piston crown.
