villiers 1944 petrol parrafin restoration back to its original tinwork and p/p fuel tank
since i bought the villiers 25 p/p vapourizer engine 2010 backend ive had the tinwork for it in a very squashed state
as when i found the engine at the scrappy in the alloy skip and the tinwork as the driver said is over there
when i got to it the excavator had all ready drove over it ,there was a second set of tins that were in the scrap pile so i used them as i thought
they would be easyer to restore as i wasnt going to do it up like it ended up ,it was a junk toy to play with
until i learned the way to date villiers and the rareness of the vapouriser engines
so on and of since april last year ive been hammering heating bending, dressing the tin back to shape or as close as i could
this is photos of what they have had done in the last 2 weeks
just finished zinc coating and red leading and then outer faces filler primered sanding tomorrow night
and then painting will start again in 3-4 days

Looking good Kev, you've made a good job out of the bent tin work and weathers warming up so the paint should dry ok and no flying bugs to worry about.

here they are in there top primer coates on they have cure rust, high zinc and build primer flattend off again and then a spray filler acrilic primer
colour for best overcoating with the topcoat yellow for light colours and red for darker colours
well thats my way for doing it any way lol
leaving to harden until friday sat evening before flattening off ready for top coating
kev
also did the lister A water jacket/hooper at the weekend

Looks like it's of Noddy's car with them colours nice going Kev, I'm sure the top coat will be well worth all the hard work.

Keep going at this rate and you'll have to buy some more engines to work on......

hi there
will i have been using on my engines the same as what we used to use on brisca F1 stockcars
that the old and new drivers recomended to me
YACHT VARNISH ,just ask at your local automotive paint dealers and they will recommend the best one for the purpose
it was aplied to our professionaly sign writen car bodys ,and ive had diesel
,5 star petrol with octane buster added, yes i do mean 5 star petrol.
boiling sump oil and break fluid on the yacht varnish,
when other cars end up spilling there guts over your car paint work the engines were running a water temp of arround 140 oC
so its a good old stuff
