Dave a router does not go that deep does it .... as by looks of it that wood is quite thick ... well you could not go that deep in 1 pass could you .... as you can only go down 1/22 at a time without putting much strain on the router ...

Cheers gents for all the comments much appriciated as said its now finished was going to put a tin roof on it but have decided against it, just wanted something easy to move around and a bit diffrent hopefully thats what ive achived.
Mike - Not a problem mate can come round any time just give us a shout do have a load of pics of the inside of the control box if you need any.
Matt - was going to use the router like the lads suggested but in the end found it easier boring a hole at each end and using the jig saw

Post by Abes Sun Mar 11 2012, 18:29

Hi all iam after a bit of help, had my engines running today (will put a post up later) well while i had them running thought i would try out the lighting set to see what it looked like so i belted it direct ie bypassed the gear box as still need to source a drive belt, its at this point i found i might have a small problem with the volt meter, the volt meter needle just seems to vibrate between 0 and 3 volts and does not do anything eles even when i alter the voltage setting via the generator, but the strage thing is when i re-connect it to a 12 volt battery it does exactly what it should do ie show 12 volts, the bulb and switch works fine on either generator or battery, have i done something wrong or is there something i should have done, any and all help much appriciated.
