Great Tony, all up and running again, why were you surprised it started so easy you knew what you were doing. I have to say the WD has to be one of the easiest engines to work on and better engine then the Petter A1 or Lister D in my opinion.

My first water cooled engine. - Page 2 Empty Up & running video link

Post by Tony C Sun Apr 15 2012, 06:11

Just found time to post a link a video of the WD8 up & running for the first time in about 15 years,
Many thanks to mike d, matt86, JONESEY, Kevjhson, ian webb, stationery stu, for advice & encouragement.
Think I may just give it the oily rag treatment for now & show as found.

PS never posted video before, I hope it works.

Looks and sounds great, no need to do any painting as the engine looks spot on the way it is. The only small criticism which is nothing much is the fuel supply pipe could be made to look a better. Normally the tap is on the bottom of the tank so not sure if that's the original tank but if you could fit a 90 degree elbow the pipe wouldn't stick out as much. Sorry I'm just being picky it still looks a great engine and it's up to you what you do with it.

stu and tony
the fuel tank is for petter a a1s and jap engines fuel cap is villiers jap type
with i side fuel discharge as wolseleys are bottom outlet
petter has a treaded cap most of the time but not all
so well spotted stu
its the right size tank for engine so most people wont notice the difference
