Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
Hi Dave,
Nice little collection you have there.
Do you know much about the Lee Howel pump that you have? Ive got one but cant find much about them.
What are you going to run your Argosy pump from?
Paul

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
Hi Paul
It's sort of grown over the past year. Started with the Lister and think you can pretty much say the bug has bitten. Been going to do it for
years now finally got round to it. And loving it !
The Lee Howell pump is green and it pumps lovely and that's about all I've found out about it. No-one seems to know much about them, I shall keep trawling when I have time but they seem to be a bit of an enigma when it comes to information.
The little Argosy pump I plan to remove the motor and drive it by belt off the Lister. Saving the Lee Howell for the Wolseley.

Nice collection and nothing to complicated to start with and a good choice of engines so they should give you years of pleasure with out taking a lot of looking after.

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
Hopefully I can post some pictures in the not too distant future with them looking much more respectable Stu,
although the Lee Howel pump has been restored already.
Top man, thanks for that Paul. Do seem to have problems now and again with my email for some unknown
reason so will keep an eye out.

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
I don't doubt you for a minute mike. I started with the Lister and and thought that would do and within three months I'd nipped off to Milton Keynes and picked up the Wolseley. I shall be taking my Lister A/B fund with me to Boston Vintage rally next week, just in case
Always had a fascination for vintage stuff, it's an era when people took pride in what they built and looking after them. A trait sadly lacking these days I feel. I do plan on a shed rebuild probably next year so I may be able to swipe another four or five foot of the garden if the wife's not looking
cheers dave

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
Sorry to hear of all your problems Kev, and glad the bast**ds never got anything. Problem is they know the engines are there and scrap metal at an all time high they might still be back in a few weeks. I have to say having 2 German Shepherds does help as when they drive round I try to always let the dogs out into the back garden, and if they knock on the door I can say they can get down the path and out the gate very fast.
Where possible I chain things up together so moving them would be a nightmare and the neighbours are good and know whats in the garden and would come out to see what was happening if I wasn't about as I always tell them if I'm away and I watch there houses when there away. Even when I go away for a few days I try to get my son to come and stay to look after things.
Stu.
PS I've got Mike's post code but I want pick of the haul

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
It's a B. No engine plate on it though so don't know spec or date. Guy had it running with a mag off another engine and it looks like someone has pretty much gone through it. New gaskets ect. It'll be pulled down and gone through though. When I get time Gonna take an awful lot of time to come anywhere near the standard of your Lister though. That is one stunning engine !!

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
Great looking engine Dave you should be very happy with it. I'm not up on Lister A's or B's but on the D's there sometimes the engine number stamped on the flywheel and you could find the details from that. I'm sure Kev, Steve or Brasso might be able to tell you better as they have all owned a similar engine.
Any parts you need shouldn't be that difficult to find, try and get a list as there's a big sort out on soon and someone might be able to find the bits you need if you can't get there yourself.
Stu.

Re: My little collection (so far !!!)
if you need any help finding the bits give me a shout bud , i was im same boat .... well one with a ***king big hole in the bottom my A has been siezed up for 40 years plus . Just finished rebuilding her new rings , recut valves and seats , scrapped the big end and shimmed that out lots of other bits replaced that was missing carb bits , linkages etc .
and she started 1st swing on the handle yesterday ..... how many people can say after doing a restoration on a engine thats been sat for over 40 years that it would start 1st swing ? well chuffed with it . just now need to make up a trolley for it fit the silencer when gets here and sort out the mag as using a borrowed mag ... oh and find a 3/8 drain tap .
best of luck mate .
