Yeah, but his pricing policy seems to be 'whatever the market will bear' !

What's wrong with market price, He's a business not a charity. Are you expecting him to give them away then ?

villierparts Empty Villiers parts

Post by Mark15 user Sun Sep 14 2014, 21:09

I've purchased some spares at L & S Engineers recently.
They've supplied rather quickly. (delivery in 3 working days to Holland)

Prices for example

Big end shells 15GBP
Exhaust 23GBP
Shipment by airmail 5GBP

No idea of these prices are competitive.
I couldn't find a supplier in Holland for these specific parts.

Best regards,

Steef

these priices for new parts are very fair and this company always are with vintage parts, when stock is available for them to sell
postage is well cheap for getting to holland by airmail

I second that opinion. Very helpful and parts arrived within 24 hours.

Perhaps Blue Cat has some affiliation with said supplier?

I have dealt with George (villiersparts) many times over the years and never had a problem with the chap. Also bought stuff from L & S again with no trouble, they even sent me a villiers exhaust (they made them for the villiers factory originally) in seperate pieces to braze together myself which was good of them as complete ones were out of stock.

Pete.

Always had good service from George at Villiers Parts and also Paul at Meetens. Quality of some of L&S's stuff is a bit variable . Had two condensers from them that were not as illustrated (wrong shape) and turned out to be dud anyway.

I have always found Wyn at L&S a very knowledgeable and helpful chap but of late I have also had a few issues - always resolved in the end I hasten to add. I suspect there may have been some changes in Sales Dept and new staff aren't as savvy with vintage parts.

I recently purchased some JAP and Villiers parts from George at 'Villiersparts' and delivery was very prompt, I have another order to place with him soon when I decide which engines are worth saving! Laughing Meetens couldn't help me.

Only my personal experience as a newbie but I found that the website is not kept updated regarding stock and the only way to find out if things are in stock is to place an order by email and then be told all the items that are not available. The couple of bits that were available were then not worth placing the order.

Try L&S engineers, they have recently taken over the stock held by Meetons for Villiers: info@lsengineers.co.uk
