Hi all,
Nikos here from Crete, in the Med sea, the arse of Europe
An engineer, and been off grid for last 20 years..
Being off grid life centers around solar panels, batteries and generators...

1. Have a Deutz aircooled twin, 6KVA, single phase as the main generator used for washing machines, power tools, welding and battery charging.
2. Have smaller gas powered DC gensets for charging in winter, but gas/petrol costs are prohibitive,
3. so aim in finishing up a Petter AV1 for this duty. Petter runs good on WVO
4. Lister CS 12/2 in restoration/rebuild mode to replace the above, hopefully this summer
5. 1925? Bolinder semi-diesel Greek copy with a stuck piston, 8Hp, 750 rpm, otherwise complete

Currently figuring out how to best belt the Lister and also run it at a lower speed as I dont need the 12HP for what I do...

Joined here for sharing and maybe finding the odd bits...

anyway, cheers and tx for letting me in
Nick

Hi Nick and a very warm welcome to the forum. Plenty of advice to be had here.
Please start a new thread in New Projects/Restorations when you get going and post a few pictures.
Thinking of coming to Crete over Christmas - what's the weather like at that time of year?

Most likely chilly and rainy. Could be sunny and mild, really unpredictable. Also aint much going on here at that time...
Late April-early June, and mid September-mid October are the best times to visit here...

regards,

olNick
