New Petter PU2 Compressor Owner
Hi all,
I recently purchased my next project! A Petter PU2 Compressor engine.
The info i was given was it was a 1939 engine used during WW2 at RAF Church Fenton then acquired by a farmer who used it to pump his tractor tyres up. Finally being sold to the person I purchased it off who has owned it from 1981-2023.
Im intrigued as too wether anyone has any info on this engine as I've searched the web but can't find anything.
I will be doing a full restoration and will of course do a thread on here too. Hopefully ready for next year to hit some rally fields.
I tried to attach some pictures from my Flickr but it won't let me for 7 days? is there an easy way to add them on here?
Hope you all have a great day,
Tom

Re: New Petter PU2 Compressor Owner
Hi Tom and warm welcome to the forum. Church Fenton is just over the A1 from me.
Got the pics up I see!
I've been looking for some time for a PU2 manual without success. Maybe another member can help.
Good luck.

A lovely rare complete set, and for that price was a very good buy indeed. Well done.
However, spares are few and far between,so don't break anything, and I've never seen a manual for one of these engines.

Oh nice, they certainly a secret information type of engine obviously! Aha. I’m sure it’ll be a great project, I’ll start a restoration thread when I get time to start tinkering

Certainly was a great price and will go carefully, though I’ve got a few machine shop / engineer connections I can ask if anything does need making. Hopefully it won’t as, parts wise, I’d like to keep the engine as original as possible, I think all the little imperfections and dents tell a story about its life. I’ll create a restoration thread once I get round to tinkering with it

If you head to the Facebook Group 'Stationary Engine Enthusiasts' you will find a member there called Phillip Gallimore, he had a 1932 PU2 for sale on the 1st of December, he may be able to answer questions you may have and may know of a source of a manual.
