Hello Peeps,

Last weekend I acquired an engine ( nowt new there then) I’m 99% sure it’s a Coventry Victor, I’ve tried posting pictures 🤦 Anyway it’s fuel pump is missing, now I know that I could mount a gravity feed fuel tank but that’s not the real answer.
Has anyone any idea about a replacement fuel pump? ie a fergy, or 1960’s car

Thank you in advance

Have fun

G😎

Looks like a Coventry Victor type MA2 engine. They didn't normally have a fuel pump fitted, just gravity feed from a fuel tank to the carburettor. Your particular engine would have had a fuel pump fitted, it's purpose being to pump fuel from a remote tank to the carburettor. Such an application could possibly be military in origin, for example as a generating set in a wireless truck, but pumping fuel from the truck's fuel tank.

As you mention, you could just plate over the fuel pump mounting flange and use a normal fuel tank. If you want to get a fuel pump you will need to find the correct one which works with the drive mechanism on your engine and that will be more difficult as it will likely be a specific pump. Once you have figured out how it is driven it might be worth looking at this type of fuel pump on eBay to see if you can find one that might fit, or can be modified to fit, beware there are lots of different ones ......

The engine will also need an air cowling as well.
