Ey Up. New member alert.
Hi all, I've always had a hankering for a small stationary engine to go with all the other clutter, but mainly just because I love engines. I mostly restore old motorbikes with an old Triumph Tiger Cub motor on the bench, vying for space with a Honda C90 Cub motor that I've just gas flowed for endurance racing(!?!) - just for fun there's a Rootes outboard boat motor waiting for stripping and rebuilding as well. Anyway, just wandering round the local car boot sale I came across the bare bones of a Lister ABL (Wisconsin AB) for £10. It would be rude not to take it away for that. However, research has turned up little other than a manual for it. I'm a bit stumped as to where to get spares from for these things as its missing it's tank and mountings, carb, exhaust, some external linkage and the top of the sparky magneto do dab with HT lead and plug! The intention is to end up with something running, in the right colour and mostly correct.
Cheers Colin

Please start a new thread in New Projects/Restorations once you get going. Good luck!

Nice engines, I have the very similar Wisconsin AK. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Re: Ey Up. New member alert.
The bakelite Wico Series A magneto caps appear on eBay from time to time, or a forum member may have one.
The carbutettor is more tricky. It could be a Zenith or a Marvel Schebler type, possibly type L26 or L52. They are quite scarce, but hopefully someone has one in the spares box, or you can keep an eye on eBay.
If it says Lister on the engine plate, you might be able to get it dated by emailing a polite note to Doreen Edgington Ddlwfl23@aol.com

Re: Ey Up. New member alert.
Thanks for the information. I think I might have found a magneto cap and a fuel tank....the carb is proving to be a lot harder thing. Not a sniff so I'll just work on what I've got and hope something turns up. Exhaust will be whatever I find that fits, when I've worked out what the thread is in the head.
The engine plate is very hard to read, but it is a 'Lister' plate. There are three numbers that I can make out (mostly) that could well be an engine number which I can't get at till Friday, but I'm guessing the one that starts W121xxx is the right one. I just can't read anything of the plate at the side of the number boxes. Probably need a different engine plate.......
Cheers Colin

Hi Colin
Could I ask you to start a new thread in New Projects/Restorations please.
Just keeps things a bit tidier and doesn't aggravate my OCD.

Nice shot blue cat.
According to Wisconsin manual, various Wisconsin part numbers were used over the years but only Stromberg Model OH-5/8" by manufacturers part number.
Best I can do is Marvel-Schebler VH, and Zenith 87B5. Although which carb' is used in which application isn't made clear.
