Hi, new member from Ryedale, North Yorkshire here, thanks for adding me.
I am a retired oil and gas industry engineer and am presently a volunteer At Ryedale folk museum at Hutton le Hole and at Eden camp modern history museum (former prisoner of war camp ) at Malton.
Right now I am working on a Petter A-1 engine that was donated by a friend to install to a Russells portable root chopper for Ryedale folk museum.
The engine number is 353377, can anyone date this engine for me please

Welcome aboard, that serial number is probably one of the last A1's built so 1945 before the A1 series II came out in 1946.

We visited Ryedale and Eden Camp when staying in Scarborough some years ago, great places. (Thanks to people like yourself, of course)

Visited both places many times. My dads medal board is on display at Eden Camp.

Mine is 1945 and not a lot earlier number than yours
