Hello,

I am David from West Sussex - just acquired a Petter A1 for a restoration project. I am a mechanical engineer still working part time at 72 and new to stationary engines so plenty to learn. My other hobbies/interests are moth trapping (identification and recording), church bell ringing ( but I do not attend the services!!) and following Formula 1.

I have sent my engine number (529244) to Jim Perkins and will be very interested in any information that he can provide.

Looking forward to getting started on the restoration works and learning from the other members.

I am hoping that this post does appear in the 'New Members' forum.

Welcome David. I'm sorry but you won't receive a reply from Jim as he passed away some time ago.
Engine number 529224 is approximately 1948 to 1952.

Thank you 'Blue Cat' for the sad news regarding Jim - a lot of history and knowledge goes with him.

Also thank you for the age range for my engine - as 'Old Git' pointed out the engine is as old as me.
