Very nice, just been reading about these today in an old copy of 'Stationary Engine'

Very ingenious with the stepped piston.

If you're interested in stepped pistons, look up the Record 2 stroke. I think Kim wrote about it in SEM.

I've always heard them referred to as a Top hat piston because when you remove them thats exactly what they are like when there on the bench

There use to be a website dedicated to the Taylor Vacuum Engine I will see if I can find the link it was very helpful when i repaired mine i must admit
