Evening All. I got my first Lister D about 20 years ago and slowly built up a collection of about 12 other engines before moving house 6 years ago. The lot had to go and I thought, that was that. Time to do other things. About a month ago a neighbour told me of a friend who was selling an Amanco Hired Hand and a Lister D. One look and my bank balance was depleted by several hundred pounds - plus a bit. I really do have limited space so I will have to limit myself to perhaps one more, maybe a Crossley 1030 or other paraffin runner. The most troublesome engine I have owned? A Villiers WX-11. The most enjoyable? Probably a Ruston PB 1.5hp. I’d forgotten how enjoyable this hobby is and look forward to picking up useful hints, tips and stories from the forum. Cheers, David.

Hi David and a warm welcome to the forum. welcome sign

Ramsbottom - dangerously close to the Yorkshire border! My late Dad was from Bolton and I still have loads of cousins over there. Have you been to the Bolton Steam Museum?

Thanks guys. In answer to Paul, oddly enough I have never been to the Bolton steam museum. I’ve been to the Anson museum several times and Ellenroad steam mill is just down the M62 - dangerously close to the Yorkshire border! I used to be on Fozzer’s Forum and I’m sure many have migrated here.
