Hello from Devon
Hi all engine and ancillaries fans, brand new member here, will be after a bit of help I think!
I just picked up a really tidy little Villiers WX11, I think it’s around mid to late 1930s and everything is there, except a spark! Plug ok, points clean and operating, does that mean the coil is no good or weak magnets etc?
Anyway, back to me, I’ve recently retired so have plenty of time to tinker and fettle stuff, I’m interested in all things old and made properly, metalwork, woodturning, etc etc. Can’t seem to send pictures at the moment, but will get to it ASAP.
I used to have a couple of engines back in the early 80’s a lister D that was my grandfather’s standby milking machine engine, and a Frank Hartop model m, that I lent to someone when my circumstances changed and I could not keep them myself, lost touch over the years and consequently lost track of the engines !!
Anyway, I have this new acquisition to occupy some of my time now, and would hugely appreciate any help anyone can offer as to getting the little Villiers running again, thanks! Iain

Hi Iain and a very warm welcome to the forum.
IMHO Villiers are great little engines - I've had several. Good luck with your new project.
