Thanks for the add. Whaddya need to know? I've always been a little bit kinky about internal combustion, and I've done things in the past like running my Land Rover on a charcoal gasifier- the big boost has been acquiring a Petter AD1 and Markon  B21 4kVA generating set. The dialogue went:

"Oooooohhhhh, can I have a closer look at that generator?"
"Take it, I was only going to scrap it."

I'm aware that sometimes stuff ends up scrapped for a good reason, but also for a bad reason- somebody won't see any more potential than 50kg of mixed metal. I've very little idea of the backstory, and I'm fully aware that Satan might be having a good giggle at the moment.

Soooooo it's S/N 38 04589 AD1 C 06, which AIUI, decodes as 1988 manufacture, 4589th off the production line, an AD1 running clockwise, and build configuration 06 - fixed speed 3000 RPM.

The big question is over the  Bryce injector pump FAOAR055E0851 do I understand correctly... that the FAOAR055 defines the outer body, the "E" defines the delivery valve, and the 0851 defines...what? I can't link it back as yet to a Petter part number, I've never seen the engine running, and I'd like to be reasonably confident that it's the right...ish  pump before I dislocate my shoulder trying to start it.

Do I understand correctly.... that once you hear the "squeak" from the pump and injector, you're 95% there?

Thanks for any help- the location is off-grid, and it'll be worth it if it gets going.

Quick edit- the 055 apparently defines the 5.5mm pump plunger diameter.

A little update- I've added a lift pump, so that I can run the fuel from a can on the ground, and I've been working through the perished rubber and hardened PVC fuel lines, chasing the leaks along the way- I've bodged in an inline filter, but I've got the O-ring for the original filter bowl. I've got the squeak, taken the injector out and got 4 nice jets, put it back in, had a few test cranks while the daylight was going without much hope.... and to my delight it started. Better than sex, cheaper, and safer and lasts longer. Still got a lot to do, but I'm on the way.
