Petter A1 Starting Issues

Hi all so a real break through yesterday and she's finally running. After changing the Condenser, cleaning and re-gapping points and new HT lead and plug and setting Mag to 20 Degrees before TDC she started and has had a run for around 20 minutes today. Still think it's running a bit fast but throttle valve is fully open may need to adjust the air regulating screw but currently no exhaust on so maybe putting an exhaust on may help. Anyway she's running after many years. Many Thanks to all who have have given advice over the last week or so it really has helped.

Exhaust (and manifold if missing) are fairly easy to come by.

Mine was running faster than I wanted so I moved the linkage pin to a different hole in the governor arm




Then you can fine tune it with the adjuster on the other end of the governor arm

Yes I will find one. When I got it there was just the rusted remains of the exhaust threaded part in the manifold the rest was gone. Thread in manifold looks fine so should screw in fine.

Thanks Stuart. I will have a play with the governor arm and linkage. It's not to bad just maybe need to slow it a little bit.
