Have a read here, you might find something...

If you are on faceache there is a Bamford group, join that and someone might, and it's a big might have something but I very much doubt it

Re: Bamford oil cake braker
Hi, If it has 'First Prize' on it that was probably from a Royal Agricultural Show . The stationary engines with that logo refer to the 1924/5 show but the competition for oil cake breakers would have taken place much earlier probably late 19th or early 20th century. Cake breakers are pretty simple machines as long as you take care not to damage the castings on dismantling. I assume yours is the small agricultural one rather than the big industrial machines.
I bought a Lister cake breaker, didn't even know they made one, and eventually found an illustrated advert in the 1895 Country Gentlemans Association Catalogue which helped me to restore mine with the details on it of the pieces I was missing, and able to make.
I will look to see what i can find but it will not be until the weekend as I am rather busy on the farm at the moment.

Re: Bamford oil cake braker
Attached are the four types of oil cake breakers taken from the 1929 Bamford catalogue.
The dfference between the first two is the presence or absence of gear guards. The second two are for more industrial uses. They show the seive and boxes for the different size products, which are usually missing. I haven't found any information on the agricultural prize yet but a picture of your machine and what it says would be useful

Some info on the company here: https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Barford_and_Perkins
I didn't know they were involved in agricultural equipment, I always associate them with the small 'Pioneer' motor rollers.

Re: Bamford oil cake braker
I really dont know I couldn't find any information on barford perkins oil cake braker however my dad wanted to know what was stamped on the plate originally to make a replacement and I think he has enough now for my cousin to 3d print a plate for him which he's happy with . I'll be honest I know nothing about vintage machines I'm only trying to help because I know a little about the internet. He wants to take it to local shows and try to get it looking like the original so hes happy with what hes got in regards with the 3d printer for a replacement plate. Many thanks again for your help it was very much appreciated

Re: Bamford oil cake braker
We had a cake breaker in the barn, up home. I don't know the maker; but it looked like the first one in phillipagri's Bamfords catalogue.
We never actually used it. I don't know where it went to, anything could have happened to it: as my brother burnt a no longer used dray.
