Hello all, I’m Pete from Taunton, Somerset and I’m glad to have found this forum as I very recently bought my first stationary engine. I will undoubtedly be in need of some help and guidance from the knowledgable enthusiasts on here and maybe, in time, I may be able to offer some useful snippets in return.

My engine is a Lister B spec 16 from 1925. It has been partially restored in the past, but is in need of plenty of work to bring it up to scratch. I haven’t had it running yet and there are a few jobs to do before I try.

I have a copy of the David Edgington Lister A & B book which has been helpful in trying to make sense of the full spec of my engine. There are however a few details which still have me scratching my head. More on that later.

I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the restoration work and starting out on the learning curve.

Here it is. It doesn’t look so pretty close up and there are plenty of issues to be sorted.

Thanks for the welcome messages. I do like the “which engine” comment. Believe me if I had the space I would love to start a bit of a collection, but without a decent workshop and the garage full there’s not much chance of that now (yet).

Yup! Nearly 250 since we re-opened for business.  Very grateful for everyone's support - makes all the hassle worthwhile.
Thank you

Get your car and any other non essential stuff out the garage and you have a ready made workshop in the meantime you can earmark the site for another shed so that you have room for the overspill, i think it ought to be made law that every man should have a workshop it is a bolthole from the domestic management.

Chiefy.

The garage contents are non-negotiable, but I’m working on other ideas to solve the lack of a workshop issue. Where there is a will, etc.

Good man stick at it convince the management that with a workshop you will be able to fix all sorts of domestic items but do not mention only if it does not interfere with your other projects!!!!.

Chiefy.
