Engine newbie
Hello all. Not been on the engine scene for long, but I’ve got these two from my late grandfather. The Lister I have had for a while now and have done a complete strip down restoration on it and the Ruston I’ve only acquired from his collection in the last couple of weeks. The plan for the Ruston is to get it running nice and leave it as is. The Lister had been painted badly in the past and needed painting again, but I’m happy with the way the Ruston looks with a few specks of original paint here and there. After reading on the internet about the ignition coils on Villiers mags, I was already prepared to buy a new one, so after confirming the old one was shot, I popped to Villiers services in Birmingham Saturday morning and by the afternoon I’d got it running. I’ve got the head off at the moment but I won’t be going into it too deep if I don’t need to. Hope you like my small collection so far and I’m sure I’ll be adding to it in the near future.

Re: Engine newbie
Thank you for the warm welcomes.
Hi Stuart, you may recognise my engines from another forum on a different topic, you put me onto the Binton crank up as it was only a couple of miles up the road from me. I see from some of the pictures you’ve posted here that your were at the Fenny Compton rally as well, so we must have crossed paths a few times. I wasn’t quite ready to show my Lister at that point though so I just camped for the weekend.
